What's Happening on the Center Stage
This week, Second Run Reviews is starting a new feature, Rewind Review! I've been reading and sporadically reviewing books for years. Starting on Monday, once a month, I will feature one of my older reviews and I invite you to participate. Click the image for more details!I reviewed A Horse Called Trouble by C.K. Volnek. It's a great middle-grade novel about finding your passion and finding love.
This week's Feature & Follow asked participants to share which authors they've met. I've been pretty luck to meet some great authors. There are pictures!
The Quote of the Week is from Stewart O'Nan and is about living life over again.
I'm hosting a giveaway and cover reveal in association with CBB Book Promotions to promote the book A for Apocalypse.
What's Happening on Other Stages
- Mashable.com featured a list of 21 Books for Those So Over Dystopian Fiction
- Barnes and Noble listed 16 things they would do if locked in a bookstore overnight. I don't know about you, but I would LOVE to be locked in a bookstore with a coffee shop inside over night.
- The free Sync summer audiobooks kicked off this week with Eion Colfer's WARP: The Reluctant Assassin. I'm a huge fan of Colfer and can't wait to get back to work and my commutes to listen this one!
- NPR posted an excellent article about teen reading.
- BrainPickings.com posted some wonderful minimalist posters of some beloved classic children's stories by Christian Jac.
